மினசோட்டாத் தமிழ் உறவுகள் அனைவருக்கும் வணக்கம் !

நாம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் மரபு திங்களை பிரகடனப்படுத்த, ஆளுநரிடமிருந்து 2020 முதல் ஒப்புதல் பெற்று அதை கொண்டாடி வந்தோம்.

கடந்த 2024ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் சனவரி மாதத்தை ‘தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் மரபுத் திங்கள்’ என்று நிரந்தரமாக அங்கீகரிக்கும் சட்டமுன்வரைவை மினசோட்டா மாநில மேல்சபை(senate), மாநில பிரதிநிதிகளின் சபை (House of Representatives) நிறைவேற்றி இருக்கிறது.

இதற்கு வித்திட்ட செனடர் திரு ஜான் ஹாப்மன் அவர்களுக்கு நமது நெஞ்சார்ந்த நன்றிகள். இந்த தீர்மானத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்த துனைநின்ற செனடர் ஹெதர் குஸ்தாஃப்சன் மற்றும் செனடர் எரிக் பிராட், இந்த வரலாற்று தீர்மானத்தின் பதிவிற்கு உதவிய மேல்சபைச் செயலாளர் திரு டாம் பார்டர்ன் மற்றும் சட்ட விதிகளின் நிர்வாகக் குழுத் தலைவர் செனடர் காரி ஜெட்செக் என அனைவருக்கும் நமது நன்றிகள்.

இந்த பெருமையோடு இனி ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் சனவரி மாதத்தை கொண்டாடுவோம்! தமிழ்ப் புத்தாண்டு மற்றும் பொங்கல் திருநாளை கொண்டாடி, நம் தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் தமிழ் மரபினை போற்றிடுவோம் ! 

 

Minnesota Honors Tamil Heritage

Since 2020, January has been celebrated as Tamil Language and Heritage Month in Minnesota. Beginning in 2024, this recognition became permanent when the Minnesota State Senate and House of Representatives passed a resolution to officially designate January as Tamil Language and Heritage Month. This historic milestone is a proud moment for all of us and a testament to the vibrant Tamil community in Minnesota.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Senator John Hoffman for his leadership in making this resolution possible and for his continued support of the Minnesota Tamil community. 

We also thank Senator Eric Pratt and Senator Heather Gustafson for co-introducing the resolution, and Senator Kari Dziedzic (Chair, Senate Committee on Rules and Administration) along with Tom Bottern (Secretary of the Senate) for ensuring its official recording.

Let us come together every January to celebrate our rich language, culture, and traditions. This month is an opportunity to honor Tamil heritage, preserve its legacy, and enjoy the festivities of Tamil New Year and Pongal with pride and joy.
